Hey, I'm Lakshmanan (Laxmena).
I'm a software engineer at AWS, working on large-scale data infrastructure and agentic platforms. I build systems that handle real scale — and real consequences.
Outside of work, I build what's missing. The right tool often doesn't exist yet. So I find the gap, close it, and ship it publicly. PyCalendly is a Python library for the Calendly API that other engineers use. Hone is an autonomous code optimization loop you can run against any benchmark.
This blog documents the process. The failed approaches. The surprising pivots. The first-principles dives. It runs on a custom MCP server I built — because the best way to understand a technology is to build with it.
